Another month and another book club pick ticked off the list. This one had mixed reviews when we met to discuss it as a group (personally they are always the best ones for me) and our discussion lasted well over an hour.
For me, this book did not disappoint. It’s a dual timeline story inspired by a real life mystery which occurred in the 1900s when two lighthouse keepers in the Outer Hebrides vanished without a trace.
I went into this book with high expectations having previously loved Homegoing by the same author (if you haven’t yet read it I would highly recommend doing so). I have to say that whilst I think Homegoing has wide spread appeal, I’m not sure this book would suit everyone. Though I loved it.

Song of Achilles was actually the second Madeleine Miller book I picked up (Circe being my OG introduction to mythological retellings) and it is definitely one which has stuck as a popular option for people who want a Greek God fix.
